Renaud Tixier Monday Organica: Two New Black and Burgundy Versions

Renaud Tixier Monday Organica deux nouvelles versions Noir et Bordeaux

Renaud Tixier is expanding its Monday Organica with two new versions, Noir and Bordeaux. Following the Blue version unveiled last year, these two seven-piece series follow the same principle: a highly elaborate dial created with the Ateliers Olivier Vaucher, whose design directly references certain components of the RVI2023 calibre.

A trilogy built around the dial

The Monday Organica is not an entirely new watch, strictly speaking, but an aesthetic variation on the Monday, Renaud Tixier’s first model. The Organica project now comes in three colours: Blue, Noir and Bordeaux.

The dial motif was conceived as an organic, almost vegetal composition. Behind this highly graphic interpretation, however, lies a mechanical reference: its curves echo those of three components of the RVI2023 movement. This is probably the most compelling idea in the series, as it avoids completely separating decoration from mechanics.

The brand accompanies each colour with an emphatic narrative centred on blossoming, roots and fruit. What matters most, however, is the execution of the dial and the way in which the two new hues alter the watch’s character.

Monday Organica Noir: grand feu enamel and platinum

The Monday Organica Noir combines a Pt950 platinum case with a black dial created by the Ateliers Olivier Vaucher. The decoration combines hand engraving, chasing and grand feu enamel.

The choice of black enamel is far from incidental. A dark, uniform surface leaves little room for error: bubbles, inclusions and irregularities quickly become visible. Here, the decorative work naturally adds complexity to the surface, but mastery of the enamel remains an important element of the piece.

The case flanks and lugs are also hand-engraved. The black Monroe calfskin strap is hand-stitched and paired with a white-gold pin buckle.

Monday Organica Bordeaux: a warmer combination

The Monday Organica Bordeaux retains the same architecture with a different combination of materials. This time, the case is made of 5N rose gold, while the dial features Bordeaux grand feu enamel, again accompanied by hand engraving and chasing.

The choice of rose gold is consistent with this warmer hue. The watch is fitted with a hand-stitched beige Island calfskin strap and a rose-gold pin buckle.

Technically, the two versions are identical. The difference therefore lies primarily in the treatment of the materials and colours, which is logical for a series that places such emphasis on the decorative arts.

The RVI2023 calibre remains at the heart of the Monday

Both Organica models use the automatic RVI2023 calibre. It measures 36.8 mm in diameter and 6.69 mm thick, and comprises 274 components. Its frequency is deliberately quite low, at 2.5 Hz, or 18,000 vibrations per hour, while the stated power reserve reaches a minimum of 60 hours.

One of the movement’s distinctive features is its micro-rotor winding system, equipped with a platinum inertia flywheel. The aim is to improve the efficiency of automatic winding despite the rotor’s compact dimensions. Renaud Tixier presents this construction as a first in the watchmaking industry.

The mechanical finishing is also given considerable prominence, with 187 inward angles, titanium bridges and balance cock, and a gold-plated platinum micro-rotor. The barrel ratchet also receives decorative treatment: an engraved, chased and grand feu enamelled plate, with an additional silver plate on the Bordeaux version.

40.8 mm and 30 metres of water resistance

The case retains its 40.8 mm diameter, with a stated height of 10.5 mm excluding the crystal and a 21 mm lug width. These are relatively conventional proportions for a contemporary haute horlogerie piece, even if the watch is far from particularly compact.

Water resistance is limited to 30 metres, or 3 ATM. This is not surprising for such an intricately crafted collector’s watch, but it is still a specification worth bearing in mind: despite its automatic winding, the Monday Organica is clearly conceived more as a precious object than as a versatile watch intended to be worn without caution.

Seven examples of each version

The Monday Organica Noir and Monday Organica Bordeaux are each limited to seven examples. The Blue version was already produced according to the same principle. The number seven refers more broadly to Renaud Tixier’s project, which envisages a collection of seven creations associated with the seven days of the week.
