Geneva Time Exhibition 2012

The Geneva Time Exhibition 2012, held from 15 to 20 January at Espace Hippomène, welcomed 6,000 visitors for its 3rd edition. An independent, “intimate” show designed to encourage direct contact with the 50 watch brands in attendance (Pequignet, Ladoire, Louis Moinet, Cyrus, Alpina, Ateliers DeMonaco, deLaCour, Arcadia, Frédérique Constant, Louis Erard, Welder, RSW, Milus, etc.).
A photo and video report of my visit.
A must-stop on my visit: the Ateliers DeMonaco booth, to admire the brand’s perpetual calendar (see the demonstration in the video below), not forgetting the tourbillons from Frédérique Constant.

The Pequignet team gave me a warm welcome; I took the opportunity to examine the Royal calibre and the harmonious design of the watches from the French manufacture. Without lapsing into chauvinism, Pequignet remains an outstanding ambassador of French elegance.

The creators of Cyrus watches were showcasing the Clepsys, priced at 1 million Swiss francs and set with 84 baguette-cut diamonds, all cut from a single 20-carat diamond. Beyond the appeal of the watch’s complications—most notably its superb moon-phase displayed on a globe—the harmonious gem-setting integrates perfectly with the case.

A panel of experts awarded the GTE 2012 Superwatch Awards to Heritage for its movement and to Cabestan for the design prize.
