Bausele Watches: Fragments of Australia
Bausele, the first Australian Swiss Made watch brand, was born from the partnership of three friends passionate about watchmaking, expatriates and lovers of the wide-open spaces of the island continent “Down Under”.
The Bausele concept? To weave the spirit of Australia into its watches.
The country’s most emblematic elements are therefore incorporated directly into the watches’ crowns: red earth, sand and coal.
From this idea came the name Bausele: Beyond AUStralian ELEment.
The brand has paved the way for a concept that can be endlessly reinterpreted, with potential limited editions, new elements to integrate into the crown, and many other possibilities.
Bausele watches are fitted with high-quality Swiss-designed quartz movements (IsaSwiss). The result? Accessible prices and watches water-resistant to 200 metres.
“I make no compromises on quality,” says Christophe Hoppe. The brand’s founder, alongside his two partners Dominique Portier and Maxime Elgue, spent many years immersed in the worlds of watchmaking and finance in Switzerland, notably at Technomarine and within the Swatch Group.
A welcome touch: the watch straps are very easy to swap.
From the concept came three collections that reflect the Australian lifestyle: Wine Bar, Surf and Yachting.
Wine Bar Collection
A true Australian heads to bars and pubs when evening falls. The Wine Bar collection is particularly well suited to this ritual, with three women’s models. At 12 o’clock and 3 o’clock, a double calendar (date and day) dresses the dial.

Surf Collection
Surfing is more than a sport for Australians; it’s a way of life. Closely aligned with the needs of the practice, Bausele Surf models display the moon phases to determine tides or plan a surf session under a full moon, feature straps suited to the marine environment, and, as always, offer 200-metre water resistance.
