Omega Hour Vision Blue: When Omega Fights Blindness

Montre Omega Hour Vision Blue, groupe Swatch

Unveiled at the upcoming 2011 Basel World Watch and Jewellery Show (Baselworld), Omega’s Hour Vision Blue is a variation of the Hour Vision (De Ville collection) developed as part of the fight against blindness.
Daniel Craig, James Bond on screen and a brand ambassador, lent his support to the initiative in close collaboration with ORBIS International, an organisation dedicated to combating blindness, which is receiving a $1 million donation from Omega, part of the Swatch Group, to support its work.

Its 41 mm stainless-steel outer case houses a 360-degree transparent inner case and a Co-Axial 8500 calibre whose advantages are well established—thanks in particular to its ability to adjust the hour hand independently, making it possible to change time zones or switch from summer time to winter time and back again without adjusting the other hands.

The Omega Hour Vision Blue, with automatic winding, is equipped with an officially certified chronometer.

For those who, like us, enjoy scrutinising the movement of their timepiece, the caseback is polished and screw-down, in sapphire crystal.

We love the sun-brushed blue dial and the refinement of the hands, faceted in 18-carat white gold.
