Chanel J12 Marine Only Watch Edition: A Unique Piece

Chanel created a Chanel J12 édition spéciale of its J12 watch for the 2011 edition of Only Watch, the charity auction bringing together 40 prestigious watchmakers (Audemars Piguet, Bell & Ross, Blancpain, Chaumet, Chopard, Girard-Perregaux, Hublot, Patek Philippe, Piaget, Vacheron Constantin, etc.) on 23 September 2011 in Monaco.
40 exclusive watches, with proceeds from the sales to be donated to the fight against Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Today, I’m looking at a watch I’m particularly fond of: the J12. After the fabulous Chanel J12 Chromatic, Chanel’s watchmaking division developed a one-off edition of its mythical watch, named J12 Marine Only Watch. Unique in particular for its 18-carat rose-gold case and its microblasted black high-tech ceramic.
The Chanel J12 Marine Only Watch stays true to the J12 codes: an incomparable design, the use of ceramic, and the qualities of a dive watch.
The 42 mm case, which houses an automatic movement, is water-resistant to 30 ATM (300 metres. Click to consult our watch water-resistance chart).
A blue anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a notched unidirectional rotating bezel in high-tech ceramic dress the dial. As befits a dive watch, its strap is in matte black composite rubber, treated to withstand every possible form of aggression.
The engraved 18-carat rose-gold caseback bears the enticing words “Unique Piece”, and that’s something we love…
