Bianchet Tonneau UltraFino Black Ceramic: Black Ceramic Meets Rose Gold

On the occasion of SIAR Mexico 2026, Bianchet is presenting a new version of its Tonneau UltraFino. This time, the Swiss manufacture combines black ceramic with a slim 18-carat rose gold insert integrated into the case construction. The watch retains the tonneau silhouette, openworked dial and automatic flying tourbillon that define the model. The main change concerns its exterior, creating a contrast between the black case and a few touches of rose gold. It is a particularly successful combination in the first official photographs.
A rose gold insert integrated into the case
The most interesting detail of this Tonneau UltraFino Black Ceramic is found just beneath the bezel. On Bianchet’s tourbillon watches, a separate component usually marks the division between the different levels of the case. Generally made of rubber, it has been crafted in 18-carat rose gold here for the first time.
This component follows the contours of the tonneau case, creating a very fine golden line along its sides. The effect varies considerably depending on the viewing angle: discreet when seen from the front, the insert becomes more noticeable when light catches the sides of the watch. The rose gold adds a touch of warmth to a composition dominated by black, without overshadowing the ceramic.
The contrast is echoed by the hands and the rose gold oscillating weight, visible on the back of the movement. Bianchet has maintained a certain consistency between the exterior of the watch and its mechanics. On both the case and the integrated bracelet, the alternation of satin-brushed surfaces and polished chamfers also helps bring out the volumes of the black ceramic.

A tonneau case just 8.9 mm thick
The Tonneau UltraFino Black Ceramic measures 40 mm in width and 47.5 mm in length. Its 8.9 mm thickness remains one of the model’s key characteristics, given the presence of an automatic flying tourbillon. The slightly curved case follows the proportions of the collection, while the integrated bracelet extends the lines of the case middle.

High-tech ceramic is used for the case and the bracelet links. Bianchet highlights its lightness and resistance, but the finishing also deserves attention: satin-brushed surfaces sit alongside polished edges, a treatment clearly visible in the photographs. Water resistance is rated at 5 ATM, or 50 metres.
A second black rubber strap is supplied with the watch. Bianchet’s quick-change system allows the wearer to switch between the two straps without any complicated procedure.
The UT01 calibre and its ultra-thin flying tourbillon
Under this new exterior, we find the in-house UT01 calibre, an automatic flying tourbillon movement developed by Bianchet, then finished and assembled in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Its openworked grade 5 titanium architecture, coated in black PVD, reveals a large proportion of the mechanical components on the dial side.

The movement is just 3.85 mm thick. At 6 o’clock, the cage of the flying tourbillon, made of non-magnetic titanium, measures 2.66 mm in height. The suspended barrel is positioned at 12 o’clock, an arrangement that gives the watch its distinctive appearance. The stated power reserve is 60 hours.
The calibre also incorporates several technical features. Bianchet states that the geometry of the bridges on the back helps distribute the forces generated by the inertia of the oscillating weight, with shock resistance claimed to reach up to 5,000 G. The central 18-carat rose gold rotor follows proportions inspired by the Fibonacci sequence, in keeping with the brand’s interest in the golden ratio.

The finishing is carried out partly by hand. According to Bianchet, more than 30 hours of work go into the hand-bevelling of the bridges alone. It is a level of detail worth mentioning, even though this new version is first and foremost distinguished by its exterior materials.
And the price?
Presented to the public at SIAR Mexico, the Bianchet Tonneau UltraFino Black Ceramic is priced at 80,500 Swiss francs before tax (approximately €85,700). It therefore occupies the independent haute horlogerie segment claimed by the brand, founded by Rodolfo and Emmanuelle Festa-Bianchet and specialising in tourbillon watches.
This version does not come with the announcement of a new calibre. Its appeal lies in the ceramic case execution and the fine rose gold component, which significantly alters the appearance of the Tonneau UltraFino. The choice of materials works particularly well visually, especially with the integrated black bracelet and the golden accents echoed in the movement.
