Breguet Classique 5177 and Classique 7787: An Alliance of Platinum and “Grand Feu” Enamel

Breguet unveils two new creations that enrich the Classique collection, spotlighting the Maison’s exceptional savoir-faire: the Classique 5177 and Classique 7787. Crafted with a platinum case and an intense black “Grand Feu” enamel dial, these pieces embody the elegance and innovation that have defined the Maison for nearly 250 years.
A refined aesthetic inspired by Abraham-Louis Breguet
Since his beginnings in 1775, Abraham-Louis Breguet distinguished himself not only through technical breakthroughs but also through an innovative aesthetic vision. He succeeded in creating a minimalist, highly legible style, stripped of any superfluous ornamentation. That legacy lives on in today’s Classique models, which draw inspiration from 18th- and 19th-century pocket watches.
The Classique 5177 and Classique 7787 display this timeless signature, with Arabic numerals elegantly set on a black enamel dial, framed by a silvered, powder-finished minute track. The hollowed “Breguet” pomme hands—another distinctive hallmark—mark the hours, minutes and seconds with enduring grace.

An exceptional pairing: platinum and “Grand Feu” enamel
Platinum, used for the first time in the Classique collection, lends the cases rare robustness and elegance. Nicknamed the “metal of kings”, this corrosion-resistant, hypoallergenic material ensures these timepieces offer longevity and a confident presence on the wrist. The cases measure 38 mm in diameter for the Classique 5177 and 39 mm for the Classique 7787, with a fluted caseband finish typical of Breguet creations.
The black “Grand Feu” enamel dial—one of the most challenging to produce—brings unique depth and radiance. Achieved through a complex high-temperature vitrification process, this unfading enamel demands true artisanal mastery and represents the very essence of haute horlogerie.
Classique 5177: pure simplicity

The Classique 5177 is a perfect illustration of Breguet’s vision, where simplicity takes precedence. This model presents the essentials of time with a date window at 3 o’clock, subtly integrated so as not to disturb the dial’s symmetry. Powering it is the 777 Q calibre, an automatic movement comprising 237 components and 26 jewels, ensuring remarkable precision.
This calibre features an 18-carat rhodium-plated gold oscillating weight, adorned with an exclusive guilloché in a “starry mosaic” motif. With a 55-hour power reserve, the Classique 5177 combines functionality and aesthetics, delivering pure, timeless elegance.
Classique 7787: a tribute to the cycles of the moon

The Classique 7787 stands out with its moon-phase display at 12 o’clock and its power-reserve indicator at 5:30, offering a poetic interpretation of time. The moon, in hammered gold against a blue starry sky, follows a 29.5303498-day cycle, close to the true duration of the lunar revolution. This precision is made possible by adding a pinion to the moon-phase disc, reducing the discrepancy to one day every 348.7 years.
The automatic calibre 591 DRL powering this model, with its 221 components, is fitted with a 22-carat rhodium-plated gold oscillating weight, decorated with a “barleycorn” motif. This calibre delivers a 38-hour power reserve, meeting the expectations of enthusiasts of poetic complications.
Cutting-edge technology in the service of precision
Both models are equipped with calibres incorporating silicon components, an innovative material adopted by Breguet for its resistance to wear and magnetism. This choice ensures not only outstanding reliability but also enhanced precision, in keeping with the Maison’s technical heritage.
The sapphire crystal caseback allows the complexity of the movements to be admired, each bearing the “Breguet” signature and artisanal guilloché. These details underscore Breguet’s commitment to excellence and horological precision, while offering a striking view of the beating heart of these timepieces.
Two works of art on the wrist
The Classique 5177 and Classique 7787 are far more than watches. They embody the spirit of Abraham-Louis Breguet—his taste for elegance, precision and simplicity. With their platinum cases, black enamel dials and exceptional movements, they celebrate a tradition of horological excellence that continues to inspire.
For lovers of luxury watchmaking, these models represent a tribute to tradition and innovation. They are aimed at those seeking unique, timeless pieces capable of spanning the ages with elegance and performance. Available in limited editions, the Classique 5177 and Classique 7787 bear witness to Breguet’s exceptional craftsmanship, perpetuating the legacy of a Maison that has continued to define the standards of watchmaking for nearly 250 years.
