Star Wars Watches by Seiko

Seiko has teamed up with Lucasfilm to launch a limited edition range of Star Wars watches in Japan. This release ties in directly with Star Wars’ 35th anniversary, which will see the films released in 3D.
The collection comes in just 6 models bearing the likeness of R2-D2, Darth Vader, Darth Maul, C-3PO, Yoda and a Stormtrooper.
Only 5,000 pieces will be produced, ranging from 500 to 1,500 units depending on the model. The battle is set to be fierce at retail. You’ll have to take on a host of collectors with a lightsaber if you hope to get your hands on one. Let’s remember that the use of the Force is prohibited in public places in Japan.
All the watches feature a 100-metre water-resistant steel case and sapphire crystals. Curiously, the watches fitted with mechanical movements are more affordable than the quartz models.
