Devon Tread 1: Two New Versions

Devon launches two new versions of its groundbreaking Tread 1 watch.
The American design lab treats us to two new iterations of its watch driven by a belt system, released in 2010 (see the article on the Tread 1: click here).
While Scott Devon (founder) is pleased with the public’s reaction following the launch of the Tread 1, he nevertheless keeps the next steps in his watchmaking venture shrouded in mystery: “These two new versions of the Tread 1 are only the second stage of a long-term plan.”
Let us recall that the brand is the only one on U.S. soil to use a movement developed in-house.
The main update lies in a more extensive use of black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) on the exterior and interior metal surfaces. True to its affinities and values, Devon uses the DLC coating (also known as amorphous carbon), widely found in motorsport, to improve engine performance by reducing friction and wear.
Versions E and F will be available before the end of 2011.
