Seiko Prospex Diver’s 300M: Three New Dive Watches

Seiko is expanding its Prospex collection with three new dive watches: the SPB481, SPB483 and SPB485. Designed to meet the demands of professional divers while asserting a sophisticated style, these timepieces combine ruggedness with refined design. Available from December 2024, they embody the Japanese brand’s watchmaking expertise, blending technical innovation with timeless aesthetics. To understand how these models fit into the evolution of modern dive watches, it is worth looking at the historical influence of diving on their design.
A distinctive octagonal bezel
The new Prospex Diver’s 300M models stand out with an unprecedented octagonal bezel, made up of delicately curved surfaces. Featuring 60-minute graduations and a luminous pip at 12 o’clock, this bezel remains true to the essential characteristics of dive watches while adding an innovative geometric touch. This unique design gives the watches a strong visual identity, combining functionality and modernity.

Dials inspired by the sea
Seiko drew inspiration from nature for the dial designs. Each of the three models features a textured dial that evokes the movement of waves, bringing a sense of calm and serenity. Offered in three distinct colours, these dials deliver excellent legibility thanks to Lumibrite-coated hands and indices, ensuring optimal visibility even in low-light conditions, down to 300 metres.
High-level mechanical performance
These new creations are powered by the 6R55 calibre, a high-precision automatic movement. Beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), it offers an impressive 72-hour power reserve, ensuring rock-solid reliability. The movement is also equipped with a hacking seconds function, allowing precise time-setting—essential for diving activities.

A case built for adventure
The case and bracelet, both in stainless steel, offer durability and comfort. With a diameter of 41.3 mm and a thickness of 12.5 mm, these watches fit most wrists perfectly. The screw-down crown, unidirectional rotating bezel and screw-down caseback guarantee complete water resistance, while the sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface ensures distortion-free visibility.
Every detail, from the case’s polished and brushed finishes to the triple-fold clasp with push-button release, reflects Seiko’s attention to ergonomics and style.
Versatility and sophistication
The Prospex Diver’s 300M models are not confined to the underwater world. Their versatile design and elegant aesthetics make them ideal companions for everyday wear. Whether in a professional setting, on outdoor adventures or simply as a daily watch, these models offer a perfect fusion of functionality and sophistication.
