Pimp My Watch: Customising Your Watch with Les Artisans de Genève

Imagine Xzibit turning up at your place, emptying your winder of your precious watches and putting them in the hands of experts so they can set about customising your timepieces.
The Maison Les Artisans de Genève offers its own take on Pimp My Ride—without Xzibit, MTV, 32-inch leopard rims, 55-inch LED TV screens hooked up to a generator doubling as a car battery, and without the crude bling-bling.
In reality, it is a collective of craftsmen offering a high-quality service for people looking to customise their watches. The client takes the initiative to get in touch with the Maison, specifying the purpose of the customisation.
The breadth of their expertise makes it possible to offer a very wide range of customisations: DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) treatment of the case and bracelet for improved resistance and a personalised finish, changing the colour of the hands, polishing, sandblasting, painting initials on the dial, etc.
Customising a watch
Several options are available if you want to have your watch customised by Les Artisans de Genève:
- Visit the boutique of one of the authorised retailers
- Go directly to Les Artisans de Genève at 114 Rue du Rhône in Geneva.
- Send the watch via Fedex
Lead time
A full customisation requires 4 weeks during which the timepiece will be unavailable (2 weeks for initials on the dial).

The price of watch customisation
Allow a minimum of €1,490 for a DLC treatment.
Initials painted on the dial are available from €250, while colouring the hands starts at €50 per hand.

What warranty?
The service comes with a 5-year warranty but, should you ever stop liking your customisation, returning the watch to “standard” is free of charge.
