Orient’s 75th Anniversary: New Bambino Models and Limited Editions

Japanese watch brand Orient is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year by revisiting one of its flagship models, the Bambino. Known for its classic, timeless design, this automatic watch sees its lineup expanded with new dial colours, as well as two limited editions paying tribute to the brand’s history.
A classic design refreshed with new dials
Since its launch, the Bambino has established itself as one of Orient’s best-sellers. With its domed crystal, classic indices and sunburst-finished dial, it embodies a certain idea of watchmaking elegance.
The four new models take a slightly bolder approach with dials in deep, rich tones:
- Dark green
- Navy blue
- Burgundy
- Beige (a first for the Bambino collection)
These new shades are highlighted by rose-gold, gold or silver indices and hands, creating a subtle yet refined contrast.

To accompany these aesthetic updates, Orient retains the Bambino’s historic DNA: a 40.5 mm stainless-steel case, a 12.3 mm thickness, and an automatic F6724 calibre, delivering a 40-hour power reserve and accuracy rated between +25 and -15 seconds per day.
A new complication: day/night display
Orient is also introducing a Bambino variant featuring a day/night display, shown via a rotating disc with a sun and a moon.
Positioned asymmetrically on the dial, this display adds a touch of dynamism and is paired with a retrograde day indicator at 10 o’clock. Available in green, navy blue and burgundy, this version keeps the same 41.5 mm case, slightly thicker (14.2 mm) to accommodate the additional complication.
Limited editions to celebrate 75 years of history
To mark its 75th anniversary, Orient is unveiling two commemorative limited-edition models:
- A classic Orient Bambino (9,500 pieces)
- An Orient Bambino with day/night display (5,500 pieces)
These versions stand out with their white dial with rose-gold indices, blue hands, and above all the use of the 1950s-era Orient logo in cursive script—an appealing vintage detail for enthusiasts of watchmaking history.
Other distinguishing features include:
- Exhibition caseback engraved “Orient Since 1950 75th Anniversary” and individually numbered
- Beige nubuck leather strap for an unapologetically retro look
- Additional calfskin strap, allowing you to switch up the style
For the first time on the Bambino, Orient is also offering an interchangeable strap system, making it easy to swap straps without tools.

A proven movement and in-house mechanics
The limited editions are powered by the same F6724 calibre, while the day/night versions use the F6B24 calibre. Both are in-house automatic movements, with manual winding and hacking seconds.
While these calibres don’t deliver outstanding chronometric performance, they remain valued for their robustness and reliability at this price point.
Accessible positioning true to Orient’s DNA
Orient has always made it a point of honour to offer quality mechanical watches at accessible prices, and these new Bambino models are no exception.
- Bambino classic dials: around €250
- Bambino day/night: around €280
- 75th-anniversary limited editions: around €350
These prices position Orient as an appealing alternative to entry-level Swiss brands, while offering well-executed designs and a rich watchmaking heritage.

- New colours that modernise the collection
- An original, well-integrated day/night complication
