M.A.D. 1 RED: MB&F Made Accessible
Who hasn’t ever dreamed of treating themselves to an MB&F watch? With prices ranging from five to six figures, that sweet dream is out of reach for most watch enthusiasts. In June 2021, Max Büsser and his team unveiled the M.A.D. 1, a watch from the M.A.D.Editions brand, produced in a limited edition and intended for “Friends” and the tribe of MB&F owners.
But then something happened. The sight of this little gem sparked a wave of euphoria among lovers of fine watches, who flooded MB&F with comments, messages, emails… It’s said that people slept in tents outside Max Büsser’s home and left offerings on his doorstep in an attempt to buy a piece.
The team therefore went back to the drawing board for nearly a year, and today presents the M.A.D.1 RED. This reworked version of the original MAD1 is available for 2,900 Swiss francs!
This model is very close to the first version, with its striking titanium-and-tungsten rotor, the hours and minutes displayed on the side of the case (which is now slimmer), and its modified Miyota movement.
First in line will be those who showed strong interest in the watch. Their names were put on a list. Then, the remaining pieces will be sold via a raffle that will select the “chosen ones”!

Here it is on my wrist. While its lightness almost makes you forget it’s there, its very lively rotor comes teasing the edge of your field of vision, reminding you what a beautiful piece is sitting on your wrist.
