Hermès Arceau Grande Lune Watch

The timeless and particularly elegant Arceau line from Hermès is enriched this year with a new model: the Arceau Grande Lune. Unveiled at the Basel fair, the latest addition to the Arceau line is already winning admirers.
Designed in 1978 by Henri d’Origny, the line takes its name and its design from a piece of saddlery.
Housed in the 43 mm case of the chronograph model, the Arceau Grande Lune watch offers a full calendar with day and month displayed in apertures. A chevron motif reminiscent of saddle blankets adorns the dial. True to the original model, the typeface of the stamped, rhodium-plated numerals is set on a slant in a harmonious sweep.
A blue moon-and-stars disc is revealed through a wide opening at 6 o’clock. The date track, meanwhile, encircles the moon disc and is framed by a rhodium-plated flange. The moon-phase module was developed by Dubois-Dépraz and is paired with an automatic calibre with a transparent caseback offering a view of its pearled and spiral finishing.
Hermès continues the upmarket move in its watchmaking range begun a few years ago.
Price: €6,200 (alligator strap) or €6,015 (Barénia calf strap).
