Frédérique Constant Slimline Tourbillon Manufacture: the accessible tourbillon

With the Slimline Tourbillon Manufacture, Frédérique Constant is launching a tourbillon at an “accessible” price.
Classic and pared-back, this limited-edition watch—restricted to 188 pieces—is fitted with a movement featuring a silicon escape wheel and lever for greater longevity and less frequent servicing.
The very 1950s-style case is, as the collection name suggests, relatively slim (under one centimetre). It is available in steel, or steel with an 18-carat rose-gold bezel. The transparent caseback lets you admire the movement and its rose-gold-plated rotor.
The silver dial is set off by rose-gold-plated indices and features a day/night indicator. Finally, at 6 o’clock, the tourbillon cage—the watch’s jewel.
The tourbillon completes one full rotation in 60 seconds.
The classic alligator-leather strap completes the timepiece.
On the price front, Frédérique Constant makes a strong statement with a tourbillon watch at €26,500 in its steel version, and €28,500 for the model with a rose-gold bezel.
So… Tourbi or not tourbi?
