Frédérique Constant Slimline Moonphase Manufacture

It’s hard for me not to mention the Frédérique Constant Slimline Moonphase Manufacture, as I’m particularly fond of moonphase watches.
The brand took advantage of Baselworld 2013 to unveil five models in this new Slimline Moonphase collection, offered at very aggressive prices.
All powered by the in-house FC-705 calibre, these watches feature a particularly interesting trait: all complications can be adjusted using only the three-position crown.
Position 0 winds the watch, position 1 changes the date and the moonphase, and position 3 sets the hours and minutes.
The case measures 42 mm in diameter and 11.3 mm thick—reasonable dimensions that should appeal across all markets—and is topped by a domed sapphire crystal and a transparent caseback. The dial is understated and elegant. The typeface chosen for the numerals around the moonphase at 6 o’clock adds a subtle touch of originality.
The moon has been crafted using a new technique known as “laser ablation”, delivering highly precise detailing.
A “detail” that matters: the price! Once again, after the €26,500 tourbillon, Frédérique Constant continues its value-for-money strategy with a first Slimline Moonphase model priced at €2,695.
