ArtyA Unveils the AMR‑02: Its Exclusive Micro‑Rotor Calibre

Micro-rotor caliber watch

There’s no stopping Yvan Arpa! His independent watchmaking house ArtyA is unveiling its very first micro-rotor calibre, the AMR‑02, to mark the launch of new references in its Luminity collection (formerly known as “Gears”). A technical, compact movement dressed in an organic design—further anchoring ArtyA in the demanding landscape of contemporary haute horlogerie.

AMR‑02 : an exclusive calibre combining slimness and power

Measuring just 3.6 mm thick, the AMR‑02 is an automatic micro‑rotor movement with twin barrels. It delivers an 82-hour power reserve, achieved thanks to two long mainsprings working in parallel. The whole setup produces 730 gr.mm of torque—an impressive figure for this format—and features a dense, high-performance tungsten rotor to optimise energy transmission.

Fully developed by ArtyA and produced between Geneva and the Jura, this movement will power other watches to come. Above all, it signals the brand’s clear intent: to master its creations at every level, as ArtyA already has several in-house movements.

The Wavy case in two bold expressions

The new AMR‑02 references are housed in the signature 40 mm Wavy case, with dynamic curves inspired by the motion of waves. Two material options are offered, each giving the piece a different character:

Grade 5 titanium with DLC finish

Montre titane noir micro-rotor artya
  • Fully sandblasted for a matte, understated, technical look.
  • Transparent or black DLC treatment for hardness up to 1200 HV (or even 1800 HV for black DLC).
  • Hand-polished caseband to create a subtle, refined contrast—rare on titanium.

Sapphire crystal

  • Exceptional scratch resistance (1800 HV) and maximum transparency.
  • Complex hand-polishing, suited to the case’s sculptural shape.
  • Light plays enhanced by the internal undulating lines.

Dials balancing horological transparency and artistic expression

To accompany this new calibre, ArtyA offers two types of dials:

Full sapphire or NanoSaphir Chameleon

Total transparency over the movement, brushed and diamond-cut indices, and an unapologetically minimalist approach. The aim is to showcase the mechanical work without sacrificing legibility. NanoSaphir Chameleon—this material that shifts colour depending on the light—is very much part of ArtyA’s signature.

Natural stone : aventurine or meteorite

A more artistic, more expressive approach. The dial features a unique mineral centre, while retaining enough openness to observe the movement’s details. A successful synthesis of decorative art and technical watchmaking.
