MB&F Celebrates 20 Years of Watchmaking Creativity with Two Limited-Edition Longhorn Models
To mark its 20th anniversary, Swiss watchmaking house MB&F unveils two new limited editions: the LM Perpetual Longhorn and the LM Sequential Flyback Longhorn. Produced in just 20 pieces each, these exceptional creations embody the innovative spirit and artistic audacity that have shaped MB&F’s identity since its founding in 2005.
A tribute to the early days and the “Friends”
Looking back on two decades of revolutionary design and fruitful collaborations, Maximilian Büsser, founder of MB&F, says: “It’s like a dream come true, except I never dreamed this big.” These new watches also celebrate the essential contribution of Stephen McDonnell, the independent watchmaker who designed the complex calibres powering both pieces.
The “Longhorn” watches, inspired by the elongated lugs envisioned for the Legacy Machine 1 in 2009, combine stainless-steel cases, glossy black lacquered dials and blued hands. A sophisticated, bold aesthetic perfectly aligned with MB&F’s visual identity—particularly with the LM Perpetual EVO.
LM Perpetual Longhorn: a reinvented perpetual calendar
First launched in 2015, the LM Perpetual stands out for its innovative perpetual calendar, engineered to eliminate the shortcomings of traditional mechanisms. With a fully integrated movement comprising 581 components, this timepiece delivers outstanding precision thanks to its “mechanical processor”—an innovation that replaces bulky conventional systems.
Offering a 72-hour power reserve, this hand-wound watch features breathtaking finishing: Geneva stripes, polished inward angles and hand-crafted engravings. The 44 mm case houses a dial that reveals the indications for hours, minutes, day, date, month, leap year and power reserve. A work of mechanical art celebrating watchmaking excellence—particularly with the LM Perpetual.
LM Sequential Flyback Longhorn: a revolutionary chronograph
Unveiled in 2022, the LM Sequential Flyback pushes the boundaries of the traditional chronograph. Thanks to its “Twinverter” system, it offers unique timing modes: independent, simultaneous, cumulative, sequential and flyback. This groundbreaking calibre, designed by Stephen McDonnell, earned MB&F the Aiguille d’Or at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2022.
With its two independent chronographs, a flyback function and glossy black dials, this watch combines cutting-edge technical performance with a captivating design. The elongated lugs, a signature of the Longhorn editions, further enhance the elegance of this model.
