Cyrus Klepcys Vertical Skeleton Tourbillon Malachite: A Limited-Edition Work of Horological Art

The watchmaking house Cyrus Genève continues to impress with the introduction of its latest creation, the Klepcys Vertical Skeleton Tourbillon Malachite. Released in an ultra-limited edition of just two pieces, this sublime timepiece combines technical innovation with artistic design, aimed at the most discerning collectors.
A revolutionary architecture with a central vertical tourbillon
Since its initial launch in 2018, the Klepcys Vertical Tourbillon collection has continually pushed the boundaries of traditional watchmaking. The 2024 novelty stands out with a central tourbillon mounted on a vertical 90° axis, designed to optimise chronometric performance when worn. According to Jean-François Mojon, master watchmaker and technical director of Cyrus Genève, this unique angle delivers improved accuracy in the wrist position.

The tourbillon—truly the centrepiece of this timepiece—completes one full rotation per minute, offering a captivating spectacle thanks to the transparency of the skeletonised dial.
A rose-gold case and spectacular finishing
The cushion-shaped case, crafted in 18K 4N rose gold, measures 44 mm in diameter (excluding the crowns) and 19.9 mm thick. This signature design incorporates two functional crowns: one at 3 o’clock for manual winding and time-setting, and the other at 9 o’clock for quick correction.

The dial features arcs of natural malachite, a gemstone with unique veining, subtly integrated into the retrograde display of hours and minutes. The arched bridge, inspired by the genius of Leonardo da Vinci, is decorated using a micro-beadblasting technique and elegantly frames the central tourbillon. This three-dimensional structure is protected by a 1.2 mm-thick anti-reflective domed sapphire crystal.
Sophisticated mechanics and elegant complications
The Klepcys Vertical Skeleton Tourbillon Malachite is powered by the in-house, hand-wound CYR625 calibre, made up of 344 components and delivering an impressive 100-hour power reserve thanks to its two parallel barrels. Every component of the movement has been carefully decorated, with micro-beadblasted bridges, mirror-polished cams, and rhodium-plated wheels adorned with circular graining. Even the bridge screws, mirror-polished, speak to the attention to detail.

The display includes retrograde jumping hours, retrograde minutes, a spherical power-reserve indicator at 12 o’clock, and a seconds indication directly on the tourbillon cage.
A unique visual and tactile experience
Observing this watch reveals a true mechanical spectacle in which every element seems to dance in perfect harmony. The contrast between the movement’s rubies, the malachite arcs and the polished finishes highlights the expertise of Cyrus Genève’s artisans.

On the back, the transparent caseback reveals the two barrels decorated with an engraved triangular motif, along with dark-grey NAC satin-finished bridges. This sublime design turns every glance at the watch into a true experience.
A refined strap for an exclusive masterpiece
Fitted with a green alligator-leather strap, the Klepcys Vertical Skeleton Tourbillon Malachite features an 18K 4N rose-gold folding clasp, perfectly matched to the case. Every detail has been conceived to elevate this unique timepiece.
A limited edition of two pieces
Production of this watch is strictly limited to two examples, making it an exceptional piece for seasoned collectors. With this creation, Cyrus Genève does not merely make watches; it tells a story—one of outstanding watchmaking expertise and an unrelenting pursuit of innovation.
