Biver Unveils “Echoes of This Moment” for the TimeForArt Auction

Biver Echoes of this Moment

To celebrate contemporary art as part of the TimeForArt auction organised by the Swiss Institute, Biver has teamed up with Swiss artist Guillaume Ehinger to create a one-off piece: Echoes of this Moment. Inspired by natural landscapes and the very essence of time, this watch embodies a fusion of watchmaking craft and Ehinger’s artistic vision.

A unique collaboration for an exceptional horological work

Echoes of this Moment, based on Biver’s Automatique model, introduces a 39 mm stainless-steel case for the first time. Lighter than the platinum or rose gold typically used, this material brings a fresh dimension to the watch’s design. The case finishing is reversed, with polished surfaces on the lugs and brushed facets, creating a subtle play of light that highlights the dial.

The dial is the heart of this watch. Crafted in 18-carat white gold and hand-engraved with an undulating motif, it is then covered with multiple layers of coloured enamel. This artisanal process, inspired by Ehinger’s works, gives the dial a shifting effect reminiscent of a lake’s surface at sunset. Shades of red, pink and grey evolve with the angle of the light, creating a unique visual experience with every glance.

A tribute to Swiss nature

The collaboration between Pierre Biver and Guillaume Ehinger is rooted in their shared passion for art and Swiss landscapes—particularly those surrounding Biver’s workshops in Givrins and Ehinger’s studio in Vevey. This watch reflects that inspiring environment, at once wild and soothing, that permeates their daily lives.

The caseback reveals the JCB-003 calibre, an automatic movement with a 22-carat gold micro-rotor. This micro-rotor is engraved with the name “Echoes of this Moment” as well as Ehinger’s signature, echoing his art. The movement bridges are adorned with fine engravings, while the sapphire crystal back allows the internal mechanism to be admired.

The TimeForArt Auction: supporting contemporary art

The watch will be offered at the TimeForArt Auction, taking place on 7 December at Phillips in New York. Collectors will have the opportunity to discover the watch during a preview from 4 to 6 December. This one-of-a-kind auction directly supports contemporary art, and proceeds from the sale of Echoes of this Moment will help fund artistic initiatives around the world.
