Piaget Reimagines the Andy Warhol Watch with the Clou de Paris Model

To celebrate the legacy of legendary artist Andy Warhol, Piaget is unveiling a reinterpretation of its iconic watch with the Andy Warhol Clou de Paris model. Featuring a case adorned with the Clou de Paris motif and a blue meteorite dial, this singular piece pays tribute to the historic relationship between Piaget and Warhol, who owned several watches from the Maison. This connection is part of the rich Piaget history, which has shaped some of the most important chapters in modern watchmaking.
A watchmaking icon revisited
Originally launched in 1972 and produced for less than a decade before being reissued in 2014, Piaget’s Black Tie watch—now renamed Andy Warhol—has become a benchmark for connoisseurs of exceptional timepieces. With its 45 mm cushion-shaped gold case and distinctive gadroons, this watch embodies the art and culture of the 1970s, an era when Andy Warhol, famed for his pop art works, embraced a singular style.

This new model, created in partnership with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, marks the first watch to officially bear the artist’s name. By adopting the Clou de Paris motif and a blue meteorite dial, Piaget reinforces its commitment to art and watchmaking innovation.
An exceptional decorative technique
The Clou de Paris motif is an iconic element of Piaget design, inspired by jewellery and formed by small square-based pyramids. For this special edition, Piaget rose to the challenge of hand-engraving the motif on a curved surface—a process that required 10 months of development and refinement in Piaget’s Ateliers de l’Extraordinaire. This subtle finish, paired with an intensely blue meteorite dial, gives the watch a distinctive, refined character.

A tribute to Piaget creations from the 1970s
Andy Warhol, a close friend of the Maison, embodied the spirit of boldness and creativity that defines Piaget. In 1973, he acquired a Black Tie watch, adding it to the six other Piaget pieces in his personal collection. A man of art and culture, he was part of the Piaget Society, attending the glamorous events hosted by the Maison and Yves Piaget.

Thanks to this partnership, Piaget is perpetuating this unique relationship by offering a personalisation service that allows collectors to choose from a range of materials and finishes to create an exclusive model—echoing Warhol’s timeless elegance.
